Best of the Month: February 2024

Please watch the video above for the story of this week’s content.

  • Best Spiritual Podcast—Episode: The Evil of Envy, aired January 19, 2024

I was on the treadmill last week and this teaching stopped me in my tracks. I slowed the belt, bowed my head and talked to God. I’ve been aware of my issue with jealousy since I was a child—always telling my mom what others had and I did not. This podcast focuses on the teaching of Dr. Timothy Keller—one of the best theologians and communicators of our time.

  • Best Storytelling Podcast: The Moth Podcast

Stories will always be the most profound way to gain our hearts and alter our perspectives. We listen and empathy forms. Hear professional writers and normal story-telling citizens alike share their true stories.

  • My Daily Chai Latte

Every day I take a break and make a homemade chai latte. I use honey instead of sugar, and froth the milk in a nespresso frother. I love the chai tea bags found at Trader Joe’s or Tazo brand organic chai.

  • Dune by Frank Herbert

Currently reading my teenage son’s hardcover version of this classic before the second installment of the movie franchise premiers on his 19th birthday in March! Well written, great use of language to describe scenes, and the story of a messiah in the desert.

  • Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Once again, I linked a beautiful hardcover copy of this classic. If you have never read it, now’s your time. I recently heard someone read the climactical scene of this novel aloud and was reminded of its power. In a world that says, “Just do what makes you happy,” Jane understands that sometimes doing the right and just thing is not what brings you joy. It brings something else—a deep peace.
